How To Choose CNC Skating Frame

You should consider as below aspects when want to get a suitable skating frame:

1. Length of frame

Length of skating frame affects nimbleness of skates, slide and stability during moments of higher speed. Length of frame is directly proportional to size of wheels. The bigger the wheels, the longer the frame. Shorter frame - better controllability, worse stability during moments of higher speed. Longer frame is just opposite.

2. Construction

High-quality frames are made of CNC machines which provides high precise manufacturing, like the CNC skating frame made by CY. They are however quite expensive. Higher toughness is maintain using bridges (braces in frame construction).

3. Materials

Plastic frame - plastic frame is used usually with fitness skates for beginners. Advantages are low price, good absorbing of bumps. Disadvantage is low level of toughness.

Metal frame - usually it is made of aluminum alloy. alloy Al6061, AI7003, AI7005, AI7050, AI7075 etc. Cheaper frames are made of softer and cheaper metals, top frames are made of expensive and more solid aluminum.

4. Spacing of screwed frame

150 mm - used with kids’ speed skates,

165 mm - used with smaller wheel skates (max 84mm), 3-wheel-skates, fitness skates and smaller sizes,

195 mm - used with bigger wheels (over 90mm) + bigger sizes,

UFS – used with aggressive skates.
