Difference Between AL7075 and AL6061
6061 is with Medium strength. Contains magnesium and silicon, good formability, weldability and excellent machinability.
Aluminum 7075 has higher strength than 6061, also has excellent fatigue properties and can be heat treated to high strength and hardness, comparable to steels.
When comparing these two types of aluminum side-by-side, it’s important to note that 7000 series aluminum tends to be stronger than 6061 aluminum. Still, it is also more expensive due to its higher zinc content. Additionally, 7000 series aluminum tends to be more difficult to machine than 6061 because it has a higher melting point and lower ductility than 6061 does.
