Anodising, or anodic oxidation, is an electrolytic process that deposits a chemically stable oxide layer on the surface of the aluminum. The resultant oxide film is thicker and stronger than aluminum's natural oxide covering.

Anodic oxidation: mainly aluminum anodic oxidation, is the use of electrochemical principle, on the surface of aluminum and aluminum alloy to generate a layer of alumina film. This oxide film has the special characteristics of protection, decoration, insulation, wear resistance and so on.
