The Structure Of Inline Skates

Jan 11, 2024

Inline skates, also known as rollerblades, have a unique structure that sets them apart from traditional roller skates. The wheels are arranged in a straight line, giving the skater more control and speed.

The boot of an inline skate is also different. It is made of a hard plastic shell that supports the foot, ankle, and lower leg. The boot is usually laced up and has a buckle or strap for added security.

The frame of an inline skate is usually made of lightweight aluminum or composite materials. The frame has multiple holes to allow for different wheel setups and adjustments.

The wheels of inline skates are typically smaller than those on traditional roller skates. They range in size from 70mm to 110mm, allowing for increased speed and agility.

Finally, inline skates also have bearings that allow the wheels to spin freely. These bearings are similar to those found in skateboards and are usually rated by their ABEC (Annular Bearing Engineering Committee) rating.
