The Manufacturing Processes Of Skating Frame
Jun 10, 2022
Injected frames
It is a common manufacturing process for plastic skate frames. The material is injected into a mold of the shape of the frame. That process is cheap, it is used for entry-level fitness frames and street skating frames.
Pressed frames
Take a metal slab, press it to give it the shape you want. That process is common for mid-range fitness and long-distance skates.
Extruded frames
This manufacturing process is quite expensive. An aluminum block is compressed in an extrusion die to get its definitive shape. That system enables to get frames cast from one piece with good mechanical properties.
Extruded frames are very stiff and light. CY supply a lot of extrusion skating frame for top skate brands.
Casted frames
Cast frames come from metal liquid poured into a mould. Cast frames are less expensive to CNC skate frame, but you can’t make a cast frame (straight from the mould) which has cross beam supports between wheels.
