How To Do Two-color Anodizing Surface Treatment For Aluminum Skate Parts
Dec 19, 2023
Skate parts are commonly made of aluminum due to its lightweight and durable properties. Two-color anodizing is a surface treatment method that can add a decorative and protective layer to the aluminum surfaces. Here are the steps to perform a two-color anodizing surface treatment for aluminum skate parts:

1. Clean the parts thoroughly using a degreaser to remove any oils, dirt, or grime that may be present on the surfaces.
2. Rinse the parts with water and dry them off completely using a clean cloth.
3. Anodize the first color by dipping the parts into an electrolyte solution and running a current through them. This will create a layer of oxide on the surface of the aluminum, which will be colored by adding dye.
4. Rinse the parts with water and dry them off.
5. Apply a resist material (such as tape or wax) to areas that will remain the first color.
6. Anodize the second color by re-dipping the parts into the electrolyte solution and running a current through them. This will create a second layer of oxide on the surface of the aluminum, which will also be colored by dye.
7. Rinse the parts with water and dry them off.
8. Remove the resist material to reveal the two-color design.
9. Seal the anodized parts by dipping them into a sealing solution. This will help to protect the surface from scratching and further oxidation.
By following these simple steps, you can achieve a two-color anodized surface treatment for aluminum skate parts that is both decorative and protective.
